Sunshade Dotted Is The Long-Unrealized Experimental Brainchild Of Multi-Instrumentalist Singer-Songwriter Kevin Guerrero. Raised In A Heavily Music Influenced Environment--His Father Prolific In The Industry For Many Years--Guerrero Spent Several Years Of Songwriting Out Of Sheer "boredom " Unknowingly Crafting In An Impromptu Studio Behind His Parents' Home In Oxnard California What Would Flourish As The Intimate Sunshade. During This Time However He Drummed And Continues To Drum For The Upcoming Indie Rock Band The Daring. Initially He Performed His More Emotion-Laden Songs For Close Personal Friends Followed By Small Parties All The While Perfecting His Sound. Special Guest Musicians Will Sometimes Provide The Lyrics Or Some Of The Underlying Instrumentation. Sunshade's Sound Is Generally Comprised Of Melodically Catchy Progressive Guitar Chords With Borderline Expert Finger-Picking Dabbled Throughout Sunshade's Array Of Songs. Guerrero Also Employs Instruments Such As The Keyboard Trumpet Accordion Light Drums And More With No Expressed Limitations Of What He May Or May Not Use. In This Way The Sunshade Sound Draws Mostly On Contemporary Experimental Folk Influences Such As Sea Wolf Blind Pilot And M. Ward And Many Others. At Times Sunshade Is Reminiscent Of Contemporary Indie Rock Alternative Styles Such As That Of The Strokes Matt Pond PA And Phoenix But Most Importantly Sunshade Is Derived From The Classics Buddy Holly The Beatles Bob Dylan And The Like. Collectively The Sunshade Sound Is Difficult To Label Yet Easily Distinguishable Given It's Distinct Culmination Of Influences.
