Sun King Are A Breath Of Fresh Air To The Music Scene In The UAE. In Early Jan Of 2007 After Meeting Through The Local Music Website Phride.Com Jonny And Jaison Decided To Jam.
They Both Brought In Friends Of Theirs Jon And Abhinav. After A Few Jam Sessions They Decided To Form The Band Under The Name Of Sun King. Influenced By Bands Like Queen And Led Zeppelin Sun King Play Music That Can Be Best Described As Classic Rock. During September To December 2007 Sun King Have Worked On More New Material For Their Upcoming Album. They Have Broadened Their Music To The Likes Of Ballads Funk And Rock Anthems. Their Track "Goin’ Crazy" Appeared On Ampulance Compilation Volume 2 A Compilation Of Music From Artists Based In The UAE And Was Also Played On The Show "Open Mic With Zahra" On Dubai 92 FM.
A New Drummer Matt Was Added To The Band After Jon Left. A High Point In Their Short Time Together As A Band Was On Jan 31st 2008 Sun King Won The HP DYPL Event And Performed To The Pre-Concert Audience For Santana's Show During His "Live Your Light" Tour Which Took Place On 15th Feb At The Dubai Festival City On A Specially Built HP Stage. After Months Of Jamming And Working On Their New Material Sun King Entered "Cesspool Studios" In March 2008 To Record Their Debut Album "Lotus" With Producer Chris Ryan Gandhi's Cookbook . After Recording During Their Spare Time And Weekends The Album Was Completed In May 2008. The Album Features 7 Tracks And Will Be On Sale In October. The Album Consists Of Songs Both Of Light And Heavy Shades. ‘Lotus’ Is About Child Abuse ‘Goin Crazy’ Talks About The College Nightlife And ‘Live Your Moment’ Is About A Dead Man Applying For Heaven. Vocalist Abhinav Loves To Write About The Greater Truth The Other Side. The Band Was Interviewed On "Open Mic With Zahra" On Dubai 92 FM And The Listeners Were Given A Preview Of The Album.
