Robin Andrew Guthrie Born 4 January 1962 Is A Scottish Musician Songwriter Composer Record Producer And Audio Engineer Best Known As The Co-Founder Of The Alternative Rock Band Cocteau Twins. During His Career Guthrie Has Performed Guitar Bass Guitar Keyboards Drums And Other Musical Instruments In Addition To Programming Sampling And Sound Processing. Harold Montgomory Budd May 24 1936 – December 8 2020 Was An American Music Composer And Poet. Born In Los Angeles And Raised In The Mojave Desert Budd Became A Respected Composer In The Minimal Music And Avant-Garde Scene Of Southern California In The Late 1960s And Later Became Better Known For His Work With Figures Such As Guthrie And Brian Eno. Budd Developed What He Called A "soft Pedal" Technique For Playing Piano With Use Of Slow Playing And Prominent Sustain. The Two Artists First Collaborated In 1986 On The The Moon & The Melodies. Years Later After The Breakup Of The Cocteau Twins Guthrie And Budd Partnered To Write The Soundtrack Of The Gregg Araki Film Mysterious Skin In 2005. Two More Collaborations With Budd Who Had Previously Announced His Musical Retirement Were Released Simultaneously In 2007. After The Night Falls And Before The Day Breaks Were Both Co-Composed Co-Produced And Played With Budd. Like Mysterious Skin Both Albums Are Slow Drifting Pieces Primarily Utilising Treated Guitar And Piano. Bordeaux Followed In 2011 And Then Another Gregg Araki Soundtrack In 2014 -- White Bird In A Blizzard. Another Flower Originally Recorded In 2013 But Only Released In 2020 Shortly After Budd's Death Was The Final Release From The Pair.
