Noisewaves Is A Chiptune Post-Rock Duo Currently Based In Grand Rapids Michigan. Ryan Stailey And Shawn Martin Originally Formed The Band Back In 2008 In The Metro Detroit Area And Have Since Then Migrated To The West Side Of The State. These Boys Blend Tones Of The 2A03 With Roaring Post-Rock Ambience To Create A Sound That's Been Described As "absorbing And Effortless". The Band Currently Has Their Self-Titled Debut EP Which Features Five Tracks And Also Recorded Their Set At Magfest 9 Which Features 9 Tracks And An Intro. "Regardless Of The Generic “chip” Label That Will Almost Certainly Be Attached To Any Music—such As This—that Chooses Defunct Game Consoles And Depleted Technologies For It's Sound Aesthetics This Is The Most Beautiful Music I Have Heard So Far This Year. Strongly Reminiscent Of God Speed And Icelandic Bands Such As Sigur Ros And Mum Every Song On This Album Was Designed To Pull On The Heart Strings. I Can Almost Hear The Ephemeral Wailings Of Sigur Ros Front Man Jonsi Birgisson Thanks Wiki Yet His Presence Is Not Necessary. The Melodies Soaring Leads Thunderous Drums And Epic Guitars Are Filled With More Than Enough Emotion To Make Vocals Redundant."
