Lucy & The Man Is A Singer-Songwriter Duo That Sets Out To Tell Stories. Their Songs Give Voice To Characters Like A Love-Sick Cat A Young Man From Ancient Mythology An Elderly Lady Who Visits Her Senile Sister And A City In The Post-Communist Slovak Republic. But In The Lyrics Aswell As In The Music All Is Not What It Seems... Loes Van Schaijk Vocals And Guitar And Tim De Man Vocals And Piano Met At The Conservatory Of Rotterdam Where They Studied To Become Music Teachers. At The Time Loes Was Investing Most Of Her Time In The Slovak-Dutch Bluegrass Band Waterflow And Tim Was Active In The Dutch Metal Band Poet's Cry. Both Found Themselves To Be Confined By The Genres They Were Working In And Were Looking For More Musical Freedom As Songwriters. In 2009 They Got Together To Record A Demo Album And The Sparks Flew. After The Demo They Set Out To Record An Album That Would Cross The Borders Of Musical Styles And European Countries By Asking Dutch And Slovak Pop Jazz And Bluegrass Musicians To Record Their Music. The Resulting CD "Kaleidoscope Tales" Release Date April 1st 2011 Clearly Shows Loes' Background In Americana And Tim's Experience With Composing Orchestral Scores. The Four Songs That They Co-Wrote Music By Tim And Lyrics By Loes Show The Start Of The New Style They Will Move Towards On Their Next Album Intellectually Challenging Lyrics Unconventional Melodies And Lots Of Vocal Harmony. When Playing Live Tim And Loes Are Completed By Mark Hage Drums Hans Visser Bass And Evelien Keesmaat Saxophone And Vocals . Tim And Loes Already Have Plenty Of New Material Ready And Are Making Plans For Songwriting Projects That Cross The Borders Of Musical Styles And European Countries In The Future.
