Piano & Guitar-Playing Memphis Sweetheart Lauren Strange Made Her First Splash In The Music Scene At 9 Years Of Age When She Wrote Recorded And Entered Her First Song In A School Songwriting Contest Where She Won First Place. From Early On In Her Career Lauren Has Received Numerous Comparisons Likening Her Voice To That Of Her Musical Idol Alison Krauss. Now 22 Lauren Is A Student At The University Of Memphis Where She Is Pursuing A Bachelor's Degree In Psychology As Well As A Minor In Music. Lauren Has Appeared On The News Channel 3 WREG-TV Memphis "Live At 9" Morning Show Both As A Solo Artist And With Her Band. Lauren Also Won First Place In The American Songwriter Lyric Contest And Her Lyrics Appear In The March/April 2010 Issue Of The Magazine. She Also Performed At The Bluebird Cafe In Nashville TN As Part Of The USA Songwriting Competition Writers Showcase And Was Named A Regional Round Finalist In The Mountain Stage NewSong Songwriting Competition. She Also Finished Fourth In The Intel Superstars Competition Country Category And Contributed A Song To A Compilation CD To Benefit LeBonheur Children’s Hospital In Memphis TN. In September She Was Named The Grand Prize Winner In The John Lennon International Songwriting Contest For The Country Category For Her Song “Jump.” Lauren And Her Band The Sweets Formed With Pal Brenna Vick Are Regular Openers For Cowboy Troy And Have Dates Scheduled To Open For Artists Including Acclaimed Songwriter Jeffrey Steele And Will Be Playing The National Rodeo Finals In Las Vegas This December.
