Kyshera Officially Formed In 2005 But Development Was Slow Due To A Long Series Of Line-Up Changes & Instability In The Band Meaning That The 1st Commercial Release By The Band Entitled 'Paradigm' Didn't Come Out Until July 2010. Kyshera's 1st Gig Was At The Legendary TJ's Nightclub In Newport In 2005 & The Band Then Spent Its First Few Years Gigging Constantly Around The UK Taking Frequent Breaks Due To Its Line-Up Difficulties. Kyshera's Longest Consistent Line-Up To Date Included James Kennedy On Guitars & Vocals Carl Peel On Drums And Joe Cicero On Bass Which Lasted Between 2006 And 2008. During This Time The Band Developed A Highly Energetic Live Show Incorporating Live Electronics Stage Mannequins And Frequent Destruction Of Gear Resulting On One Occasion With James Needing Medical Attention Backstage Due To Severe Loss Of Blood After Landing On The Drum Kit At A Festival In Angelesey. Kyshera's Focus At This Time Seems To Have Been On Performing & Building Its Fanbase Rather Than Recording As The Bands Only Recorded Output During This Time Was A CD Entitled The 'Kyshera EP' Which The Band Sold At Gigs. The Band Continued To Gig Heavily & Planned To Perform A 12-Hour Improvised Gig For Charity In Central London However This Was Axed Last Minute Due To Venue Complications. Kyshera Have Stated That This Is Something That Will Still Take Place At Some Point. Due To Their Ever Developing Live How Kyshera Began Attracting Much Positive Press Including Mathew Priest Announcing The Band In Rhythm Magazine As The UK's Answer To Mars Volta Tony Iommi Stating That The Band Was One Of The Best In The UK Today And Huw Stephens From BBC Radio 1 Saying That Kyshera Was 'one Of The Best Things I've Heard In Ages'. However Lineup Problems Continued To Plague The Band Bringing Kyshera To A Complete Standstill Between 2009 And 2010. After Growing Despondent With The 'stop & Start' Nature Of The Band Which Kennedy Felt Was Becoming A Severe Hindrance To The Band James Decided To Focus Entirely On The Recording Of Paradigm The 1st Commercial Kyshera Release Which James Felt Was Long Overdue. Paradigm Was Recorded And Produced By Kennedy During January 2010 And Was Released On 12 July 2010. Throughout The Making Of The Album Kyshera Was Without A Permanent Drummer But Was Joined By Matt Warr On Bass Who Plays Throughout The Album. 'Paradigm' Was Received With Very Positive Press Including Flavour Magazine Describing The Album As 'a World Wind Of Avant Rock That Will Leave You Wanting More' & Andy Von Pip Describing The Sound As "Incendiary Adrenaline Fuelled Stadia Straddling Epicness". Paradigm Also Featured The Use Of An Orchestra On The Instrumental Experimental Piece 'Frequency 1'. During The Same Time James Also Began Recording An Album Of Completely Electronic And Experimental Music Entitled 'Nine I.P.' Which Will Be Released In 2012 As Well As An Album Of Simple Acoustic Songs.
Kyshera Then Resurfaced In March 2011 With Its New Lineup Consisting Of Matt Warr On Bass And Rhys Jones On Drums. Whilst Promoting The Release Of 'Paradigm' The Band Performed Constantly & Played Some Of Their Biggest Venues To Date Such As Cardiff's St David's Hall & Ynysangharad Park. A Free Live DVD Of Their Intimate Hometown Launch Party At The Globe In Cardiff Was Later Put On The Kyshera YouTube Page & Captures The New Line Up At Its Earliest Inception. The Band Continued To Gig Around The UK & Began Wearing Orange Guantanamo Bay Style Boiler Suits To Symbolize The Band's Feeling That They Were 'cultural Terrorists'. In November James Was Nominated As One Of 'Wales' Sexiest Men' In A Yearly Poll. In January 2011 Kyshera Released A Brand New Song Entitled 'Know Your Enemy' Onto The Internet For Free. The Song Is Claimed To Have Been Written Recorded & Released In An Afternoon & Is Not Featured On The 'Paradigm' Album. 'Know Your Enemy' Was Hosted On SoundCloud & Is Linked To Kyshera's Various Web Pages. Kyshera Then Spent Most Of 2011 Touring Including Dates In Canada The Furthest The Band Had Played At That Point However The Band Parted Ways With Rhys On Drums In September & Took The Rest Of The Year To Record The 2nd Full Length Kyshera Release Entitled 'Made In China'. Shortly After They Signed A Licensing Deal With Rising Records For The Release Of The Album Which Is To Be Released In Spring 2012 & Were Joined By Phil Smith On Drums.
