Tulsa's Black Gold Band Made Its First Imprint On The Music World With A Self-Released Demo In 2006. Two Years Later Oklahoma-Based Label Little Mafia Released Their Debut Full-Length Endless Oklahoma Sky. The Album Received Critical Praise To The Extent That The Title Track Was In The Final Running To Become The Official State Rock Song Alongside Such Contemporaries As The Flaming Lips Winner The All-American Rejects JJ Cale Leon Russell Elvis Presley Wanda Jackson And The Ventures. After An Ever-Revolving Cast Of Drummers And Bassists Leaving Core Members John Moreland And Wayne Wedge Who Made His Debut With The Band On The Full-Length The Only Constants John Decided To Disband The Black Gold Band Name In Early 2010 After Self-Releasing A Solo Demo Session The Year Before. John Continues To Write And Record Music And In 2010 Will Release Things I Can't Control Under His Own Name. Wayne Has Returned To Perform Secondary Guitar Duties And Producer Stephen Egerton ALL Descendents Has Been Playing Drums On The Studio Sessions. In 2010 Moreland Was Featured On The Multi-Musician Studio Project The Seven Degrees Of Stephen Egerton Along With Members Of Drag The River Descendents MxPx And Many Others.
