Artist Biography For Eleven Pictures

One Of The Greatest And Most Underrated Bands Of The Last 20 Years Eleven Pictures From Sweden. Critically Acclaimed For Their 3 Albums - Flowerland Initials And Superfical To The Core. Two Of The Founding Members Are Heading Up The New And Brilliant - The Dakota Project- Check Them Out Here In My Space For Updates And Their Forthcoming New Recordings. This Is A Tribute And Celebration To Their Talent And Music THE ALBUMS - FLOWERLAND The Road Has Been Long And Winding Indeed. In 1995 The Debut Cd ”Flowerland” Was Released In Over 25 Countries. Flattering Of Course Having Been A Band For Only A Couple Of Years But Not Half As Flattering As All The Bombastic Reviews That ”Flowerland” Got. It Made A Huge Impression On The Rock Press In Europe. With All Of This Good Press Eleven Pictures Set Off On A Small Tour In Holland And Belgium. The High Point Of This Tour Was Of Course Playing The Renowned Dynamo-Festival Which That Year Had Sold Over 120 000 Tickets. Quite A Crowd For A Debuting Band! ”Flowerland” Featured A More ”metallic”-Sound Compared To What Eleven Pictures Has Since Come To Be. The Band Felt Incredibly Limited By All The Imagery And Narrow Minds In The Hard-Rock Community And Most Likely Just Grew As A Band. Given The Fact That Some Of The Members Were Only 20 Years Old Around The Release Of The Album This Comes As No Surprise. INITIALS In April -’96 Eleven Pictures Starts To Record The Self-Produced Album That Came To Be ”Initials”. The Album Was Released In Feb.-’97. Around The Release Of The Album Serious Things Started To Happen In The Band And Two Of The Four Members Left The Band. Original Drummer John Lindén Left By Will Feeling That A Break From Music Was Necessary For Him. Original Bass Player Gurkha Was Fired Since His Body Was Always Present On Rehearsals But Unfortunately Not His Mind. New Members In The Bands Are Long-Time Friends Christian Jansson Bass And Patrik Herrström On Drums. The Release Of ”Initials” Saw Eleven Pictures Recieving Almost Ridiciously Good Reviews. Eventhough ”Initials” Was A Far Step From ”Flowerland” Style-Wise Everybody Liked It. Even More Than The Last Time Around It Seemed. Superficial To The Core Eleven Pictures - Superficial To The Core During The Summer Of ‘97 Eleven Pictures Went On A 5 Week Tour Of Europe. Amongst Other Places They Played Madrid Paris And Hamburg. The Tour Was Everything From Disaterous To Victorious. They Encountered Everything From Empty Clubs To Raving Crowds Amps Breaking Down And Shithole Appartments To 5-Star Hotels. It Was Definitely Both Sides Of The Coin And A Huge Learning Experience. Maybe This Experience Contributed To Making ”Superficial To The Core” The Edgiest Material From EP To Date. They Say Touring Makes For Harder Songs And In This Case That’s True. Without Losing Their Sense Of Melody Eleven Pictures Has Roughened Up The Edges Considerably Since ”Initials”. With Songs Like ”Work It Out” Or ”Sham Fu” The Change Is Evident. But The Ambiance Hasn’t Gone Out Of The Window Yet Just Listen To ”Primate Dancer” And ”We’re All” . Spring 1999 Sees Eleven Pictures Start Recording Their Third Album. This Time Around The Production Is Taken Care Of By Longtime Friend Roberto Laghi B-Thong Transport League Ellen Jamesians . It Was A Marriage In Heaven. Everybody Got Along Great In The Studio And Roberto Made Wonders With The Guitar Sounds. The Band Rehearsed Together With Roberto In The Studio Prior To The Recording And We’re Sure This Greatly Contributed To The ’lively’ Sound On The Album. 1. Work It Out 2. Weakdays 3. Primate Dancer 4. Nostromo 5. Sham Fu 6. When I'm Gone 7. We're All 8. Green That Is Yes 9. What This Beauty Holds 10. Fragile 11. Little Killer 12.
