Drew Grow Has Been Making Music For Fifteen Years. Through Five Bands Endless Touring And Multiple Albums Into His Career Grow Reconsidered The Way He Was Releasing His Music Into The World - And Help Start His Own Artist Owned Record Label Amigo/Amiga. Since August Of 2009 Drew Grow & The Pastors’ Wives Have Been Recording And Releasing Singes With A B-Side On The Self-Run Record Label. The Idea Was To Release Singles Throughout The Year Then Compile Some Of These Songs With New Songs Onto A Full-Length LP Available Only On 12”vinyl And Online. The Singles To LP Concept Saw Its Way Through When The Album Released September 14 2010. While Grow Says He Writes Mostly From His Subconscious In Spite Of Or Because Of This Certainly Some Autobiographical Themes Appear Throughout The Self-Titled Album. Songs Deal With Friends And Lovers As Well As What Seems To Be The Death Rattle Of A Former Life Dedicated To Holy-Roller Christianity. This Is Not Intentionally A Love Break-Up Spiritual Or Concept Record – But It Could Be Any Of These. Songs Like Bon Voyage Hymn And Up In Smoke Contain Religious References But Bid Adieu To The Same Places From Which The Language Was Borrowed. Friendly Fire And It All Comes Right May Sound Like The Call Made From The End Of A Rope But Are Redeemed By A Hopeful Resiliency While The Patient All Around Your Name And The Warmly Produced Do You Feel It Narrate Real Love Stories With Doubt And Dares The Way Love Goes In Real Life. Company And Bootstraps Both Remain Soaked With The Live Room Sounds Of The Portland Basement In Which They Were Recorded And The Sixties Pop-Infused Hook Was Recorded Live At The Hangar Studios On A Day Off In Sacramento While The Band Was On Tour. Drew Grow Is A Prolific Songwriter Who Is Not Concerned With Strictly Specifying Accouterments To Define The Sound Of The Band Or An Album But Rather Is Interested In Focusing On Each Individual Song To Find An Effective Way To Deliver Something Beautiful. The Complete Drew Grow Oeuvre Shows Diversity And Breadth With The Constant Thread Of Smartly Written Impactful Songs.
