Brian Jett Was Born In Grandforks N.D. In 1965 And Grew Up Around The Country As His Father Was Career Military. Nothing Caught His Attention For Very Long Except Music From A Very Young Age. His Childhood And Teenage Musical Influences Included Stevie Wonder Karen Carpenter Donny Hathaway Joe Pass Earl Klugh George Benson Wes Montgomery Phil Keaggy Barney Kessel And A Number Of Vocalist From The 1940s And 50s. Notably Sarah Vaughn And June Christy. He Began Playing Guitar At Age 14 And By Age 19 Had Been Fortunate Enough To Meet B-3 Regional Stand Out Bill Farris And His Son David Farris A 15 Year Old Prodigy - Both From Versailles Kentucky. The Fake Book Hours Of Practice And A Love For Improvisational And Originality Moved Him To Pursue Music Throughout The Early 1990s Playing Routinely With The "Boss Of The B-3" Winston Walls And On One Memorable Occasion Brother Jack McDuff. Jett Didn't Pick Up The Guitar Too Often After Completing Graduate School At The University Of Kentucky In 1992 But Did Manage To Write Lyrics To Country Tunes And Compose Many Lite Jazz Guitar Compositions To Include The Soulful Benson Style Original "Remembering When." His Happy Song "With The Flow" Done With Bassist Doug Griffin Has Caught The Attention Of Lite Jazz Lovers Who Enjoy Tasteful And Joyful Melodic Lines. The Music Was Put To Digital Format After Being Inspired To Go After The Very Thing That He Loved And Gave Meaning To Life And Its Varied Twists And Turns. His Old Yet New Tunes Were Enhanced And Released To ITunes And Amazon On May 23 2009. A 1996 Meeting With Chet Atkins And Conversations With Cal Collins Who Provided Encouragement Moved Brian To Pick Up His Ibanez GB-10 Hollow Body And Hone The Skills To A Level He Left Untapped Earlier. Brian Played With Many RnB Bands After Performing At Kentucky State Univeristy's Jazz Symposium And Was Urged By The All African American Band Members To Sing His Stevie Wonder Impression While Singing Donny Hathaway's Memorable Duet Roberta Flack "The Closer I Get To You". The Song Was Always A Favorite And His Ability To Mimick Hathaway's Vocal Inflections And Tone Caught The Attention Of Many Unsuspecting Audiences. Brian Jett Is Currently Writing And Arranging Gospel Country RnB And Other Instrumental Jazz Tunes Including Old Hymns Brought To A Smooth Jazz Life With His Soulful Style That Continues To Grow As He Continues To Pick Up Where He Happily Did Not Leave Off. Brian Jett's Name Is Well Known Among Authors And For His Ability To Foment Quotations Which Number Over 600 And Have Been Widely Published World Wide In A Multitude Of Books Assays Scholastic Missives And Internet Sources.
