Atavistic Were A Crust/Grind/Thrash Band From Whitstable Kent UK Formed Sometime In The Mid-80s. The Band Comprised Of Jeremy Upcroft Guitar Vocals Patrick McKernan Bass And John Brenchley Drums . They Released Two EPs "Equilibrium" And "Life During Wartime" Both 1987 And An LP "Vanishing Point" 1990 During Which Their Sound Evolved From Ultra-Chaotic Grind/Crust To A Slightly Groovier Blues-Tinged Thrash. Prior To These Recordings The Band Were Due To Release A Split Album With Napalm Death But This Never Materialised. The Napalm Death Half Of The Split Became Side 2 Of Their Legendary Debut Album "Scum".
