Urusei Yatsura Were A Lo-Fi/indie Rock Band Which Formed In 1993 In Glasgow Scotland. The Band Consisted Of Graham Kemp Vocals Guitar Fergus Lawrie Vocals Guitar Elaine Graham Bass And Ian Graham Drums . The Band Released Four Albums And Reached #40 On The UK Singles Chart With Their 1997 Single "Hello Tiger" Before Disbanding In 2001. Kemp Has Since Gone Onto A Solo Career And The Other Three Members Have Formed The Group Projekt A-Ko. The Band Is Named After The Manga By Rumiko Takahashi. For Music From The Soundtrack CDs Of The Anime Film And OVA Based On The Aforementioned Manga Please Fix Your Tags To The Composers Of Said Music. I Think This Is A Great Tune Another One That Could Have Been A Single. Fergus Went Off It In A Big Way As He Thought It Sounded A Bit Too Pavement. We Definitely Had A Very Similar Aesthetic And Obviously Both Bands Owed A Lot To Sonic Youth And The Fall But I Don’t Think This Sounds Like Any Particular Malkmus Song. The Rhythm Is Nice And Bouncy And We Started To Notice Our Growing Audiences Bouncing In Time With It.

I think this is a great tune, another one that could have been a single. Fergus went off it in a big way as he thought it sounded a bit too Pavement. We definitely had a very similar aesthetic and obviously both bands owed a lot to Sonic Youth and The Fall, but I don’t think this sounds like any particular Malkmus song.
