The Music Of Tobie Milford Has Been Described As An “ethereal Symphony Of Sound”. It Is The Result Of A Marriage Between Ambient Minimalist String Textures Sophisticated Plucking Patterns And Dynamic Vocals. Milford Began Playing The Violin At Age 3 And Received Classical Training Until The End Of High School. While Attending College Milford Was Inspired By The Music Of Chicago Songwriter Andrew Bird Which Led Him To Return To The Violin And Experiment With Loop Pedals. Milford Performs Extensively In The Phoenix Area Playing Everywhere From Art Galleries To Music Festivals. Recent Performance Highlights Include Opening For Joe Firstman At Los Angeles’ Prestigious Hotel Café And Also For Ambient Indie Folk Pioneers Sleep Whale As Well As Performing At Arcosanti’s EarthDance Festival. Milford Has Contributed To The Latest Recordings Of Several Phoenix Bands Including What Laura Says Thinks And Feels Andrew Jackson Jihad Michelle Blades Porches And Cardiac Party. Milford Is Also A Member Of Phoenix Band The Whisperlights Performs Frequently With Michelle Blades And Is Part Of The Black River Bandit’s Symphonic Rebellion.
