Born In Kingston-Upon-Thames But Raised In Somerset UK Rachel Is A Singer-Songwriter Who Composed Her First Song At The Age Of Four And Started Piano And Singing Lessons At School. She Suffered Some Family Trauma As A Young Child And Used Her Ability To Write Songs As A Way To Explain The Pain. Her Musical Influences Include Tori Amos PJ Harvey Jeff Buckley And Kate Bush She Studied For A Degree In Music But While Training As An Opera Singer She Started Developing Her Own Alternative Rock Material In Her Spare Time. Long Nights In The Studio Followed With Some Of The Very Early Ideas For Her Album – Sparks Under The Snow – Taking Tentative Shape On The Well-Inked Pages Of Her Song Book. Since Then Rachel Has Reached The Finals Of Two International Songwriting Contests The UK Songwriting Competition In Conjunction With BBC Radio And The BRIT Trust And The VH1 Song Of The Year Contest. She Has Been Interviewed For BBC Radio Bristol And BBC Somerset Performing Battle Fatigue One Of The Songs From Sparks Under The Snow Live On Air. In Between Writing Recording And Putting The Finishing Touches To Her Album Rachel Has Also Found Time To Lend Her Musical Skills To A Number Of Art And Drama-Based Sideline Projects…her Poetry Can Be Found In An Artbook/country Diary About The Countryside In Her Home County Of Somerset And Her Music And Lyrics Brought To Life A New Adaptation Of Alice In Wonderland Performed Earlier This Year.
