To Darkness We Trek - Music

Ricky "Riik" Bennett Is A Shy Yet Creative Amateur Piano/keyboard Player From Stockport England. He Composes Instrumental Pieces In His Spare Time. Ricky Composes Music For Two Major Reasons. Firstly To Express Himself In Ways He Finds Difficult To Put Into Words And Secondly To Give Something Back To The World For Everything That He Has Been Given. His Main Style Of Composing Is Experimenting With Synth And Piano And Creating Music With An Atmospheric Touch. Ricky Originally Started Out With A Small Portable Keyboard At Around The Age Of 5 Or So Where He Composed His First Ever Simple Melody Which Was Later Incorporated Into One Of His Music Tracks Although Perhaps Not Noticably. Consisting Of A Few Notes Adjacent To Each Other On The Keyboard. Around That Time He Also Started Learning To Play The Cornet But Lost Interest Due To Too Much Absence From His Brass Teacher. Later He Then Progressed To A Larger Keyboard When He Was Around Nine Years Old. A Year Or So Later He Then Took Guitar Lessons But Never Persued This Instrument Further And Thus Lost What Little Practice He Had Aquired With Said Instrument. Within The Next Seven Years Ricky Became Very Fond Of The Keyboard As An Instrument And Used His Natural Ablilty And Self-Taught Skills To Reach A Level That Made It Possible For Him To Gain A GCSE In Music. Influenced By A Number Of Game Music Artists Ricky Has Gone On To Composing Instrumental Music In His Free Time. The First Piece Made Avalible To The Public Was "We Are The Slain Ones" Recorded Within A Bedroom Using A Low-Grade Microphone. None The Less This Piece Has Received Praise From Members Of The Vanguard Federation Of Freelancers A Gaming Community That Ricky Was Previously An Active Member Of. This Track Has Recently Been Re-Written And Then Further Remixed. After The Release Of This Track Ricky Went On To Record "Where Shadows Begin And Darkness Is Born". This Album Was Again Recorded In A Similar Fashion To We Are The Slain Ones And Was Released For Free Via Last FM Only. When He Then Went On To His Later Albums "Frozen Feelings" And "Shadows Reborn" Ricky Used A Jack Lead And Adaptor For Better Quality Recording. Also A Number Of General Midi Compositions Were Also Added To The Aforementioned Albums Which Did Not Involve His Keyboard Much. The Latter Of The Two Albums Also Contained Re-Writes Of Where Shadows Begin And Darkness Is Born Tracks Making That Album Obselete And Giving Him Reason To Remove It From The Internet. RIcky's Hope Is To Be Able To Perform At A Professional Standard In The Coming Years But He Is Still Limited By Low-Budget Equipment And Poor Social Skills. As Well As Music Ricky's Creative Talents Also Include Writing And Digital Art Mostly Logo Design Abstract Backgrounds And Cartoon-Esque Pictures As Well As The Occasional Skin For A Computer Game UI .
