Artist Biography For Oversat

Oversat Is An American Surfwave Band. They Have Also Been Called Indie Experimental. The Original Lineup Consisted Of Vocalist Jon Hall Bassist Jeremiah LongBear Gutarist Jared Cooper And Drummer King Doug. Founded In 1999 The Band Played Mostly Punk Rock Music. They Self-Released Their First Tape That Same Year Dubbing Over Bootlegged Copies Of A Tribe Called Quest's "Low End Theory" That Bassist Jeremiah LongBear Found In A Police Dumpster. After Jon Hall Left For The Army In 2002 The Band Continued Shifting Vocal Responsibility To The Other Members. In 2004 Drawing From Other Influences Oversat Began Experimenting With Ambient Electronica Hip-Hop And Indie Rock. This Signaled A Shift That Led Them To Release Two Full On Hip-Hop Albums. They Also Added Rapper T.G. Gutta. The Group Gained Some Notoriety Figure-Heading A Bike Safety Campaign And Starring In A Rap PSA Called Keep Your Helmet On. In 2008 Oversat Stopped Touring To Write What Would Become A Four Album Concept Release. In 2011 The First EP Albumname Mixed Signals /albumname Was Released Digitally Via Oversat's Bandcamp Page. The Band's Music For These Albums Have Been Characterized As "Surfwave" "Noise-Pop" And "Indie Experimental". In August 2011 The Band Announced That The Second Installment Albumname Summer Saved Me /albumname Would Be Released Later By Year's End Kicking Off A Scandinavian Tour.
