Artist Biography For Orca

Orca Is The Name Of A Bunch Of Different Bands And Artists 1 Orca Was A Post-Hardcore/alternative Rock Band From Plymouth/Ivybridge England United Kingdom. Bio From Their Myspace In 2008 "Formed In 1999 As A 4 Piece In The Small Town Of Ivybridge Devon. Orca Made Only One Recording And Played A Limited Number Of Shows Before Becoming A 5 Piece Band With The Addition Of Tom Ward In Late 2000. With A Second Guitarist And 3rd Vocalist Now On Board The Live Shows Took On A Very Energetic Appearance As The Music Began To Change From Primitive Nu-Rock To Intelligent Post Hardcore. Recording In Local Studio 'PMC' Became A Frequent Event And Very Quickly This Paid Off With Steve Lamacq Highlighting The Band In 2001 As 'Unsigned Artist Of The Week' On BBC Radio 1. This Was Not To Be The Only Time Radio 1 Backed The Band With Other EP's Being Played By Well Known DJ's Such As John Peel Marian Hobbs And Scott Mills. In 2004 BBC3 TV Got Behind The Band In A Program About The UK's Unsigned Music Scene By Interviewing The Band And Screening Some Live Footage Of Orca On Stage. Orca's Most Successful CD Release To Date Came In 2004 With 'The Days Are Restless... But The Nights Are Explosive' EP Featuring 5 New Tracks. The CD Was Released Nationally Through 'Casket Records' And So Was Available In Retail Shops Such As Virgin And HMV For The First Time. Initial Sales Went Well And Together With The CD Sales On Orca's Third National Tour All 2000 Initial Copies Had Gone. The Band Also Backed This CD Release Up With Their First Music Video For The Song 'Punchline' Which Was Played On Networks Such As MTV MTV2 MTV USA Scuzz And Continues To Be Shown Today. 2005 Was A Year Which Saw The Band Make A Brave And Bold Statement By Announcing That All Material Written Over The Past 6 Years Was To Be Archived And Never Played Live Again. The Bands Reasoning Behind This Was That Orca Were Being Increasingly Categorized And Labelled As Something The Band Knew They Weren't. There Was A Belief In The Band That They Could Do Bigger And Better Things But First They Wanted To Take Time Out And Write The New Material That Would Set Them On Their True Path. So With The Experience Of 6 Years Behind Them And Exciting New Material In Their Locker 2006 Looks To Be A Great Year For The Band. Demo's Are Being Finished Off And An Album Is Already Planned For The Summer. This Already Energetic Live Band Now Looks Forward To Upcoming Shows So They Can Get Back To Doing What They Do Best." They Put Out An EP In 2003 Called The Thought Of Falling On Alaska Recordings The Two Song EP Hopes Ever Shifting In 2004 And The EP In 2004 Called The Days Are Restless... But The Nights Are Explosive On Casket Music. In 2014 They Recorded The Single For Monaco. Members Dan Brace - Vocals

From One Thing Came Another And In 2000 He Hit His First Psy Trance Party Searching For Other Intense Sorts Of Music And He Got Hooked Straight Away From The 1st Moment It Hit Him. “It Was Nothing More Then A Logic Result” As He Says Himself “because It Combined All Elements From Metal/punk Wave & Electronic Music”. Alon Ended Up Turning Into A Full-Time Addict In No Time And Decided To Start Producing Him Own Music In 2004 To Give Birth To All The Ideas And Inspiration He Felt Poppin’ Up In His Head. Now It’s 2006 And He Feels Ready To Unleash His Awesome Raw Power Upon Planet Gaia And His First Release “The Magic Medicine” On The Next Mind Funk Records Compilation Will Sure Not Go Unnoticed And Set Pace For A Long List Of Successful Releases To Come On The Future… 3 Orca |ˈôrkə| Noun A Musical Analysis Of The Cerebral Diatribe Triggered From An Auditory Furor In The Minds Of Two Anomalous Characters Ben Dymock & Luke Abu 4 Orca Is Also An Alias Of Electronic Musician Darren Beale More Notably Known As Drum & Bass Artist Decoder And A Member Of Kosheen. 5 With An Instrumental Lineup That Includes The Hydro Harp Acid Jug Grindstone Bottle Organ Hammer & Nails Broom Bow & Saw Axe And Cement Mixer ORCA Which Means “power” In Faroese Has The Most Original Band Concept Seen. 6 Orca Band Was A British Piano Rock/indie Band From Indonesia. @danillajpr | @geri_Gunawan | @TommyMbul | @Bs_Edogawa | Dark Fun And Mysterious Headed By Jens Thomsen A Staple In The Faroese Music Scene For Years And Former Bassist Of The Influential Band Clickhaze ORCA Makes Primal Nordic-Saturated Music On Entirely Homemade Instruments. ORCA Got Its Beginning Over Christmas 2005 When Thomsen Along With Family And Friends Built All The Band's Instruments Out Of Scrap Material And Power Tools Salvaged From The Family Farm. After The Instruments Were Finished The Group Composed Music For Five Days. The Flurry Of Creativity Culminated In Recording Their Debut Album “Livandi Oyða” And A Live Concert That Remains The Stuff Of Legend For Young People Here. “You Got Invited To The ORCA Concert? So Cool.” One Criticism Heard Repeatedly Of ORCA Is That Their Lyrics Are Highly Cryptic And That The Postmodern Faroese Flow Detracts From The Quality Of The Musicianship. Fortunately For ORCA’s Future Plans For Touring Internationally Foreigners Can Blissfully Ignore This Fact And Focus Their Attention On The Awesome Sounds The Instruments Make At A Live Show Despite The Challenge Of Transporting Them And Keeping Everything Tuned. A Favorite Is The Bottle Organ Which Is A Series Of Soda Bottle With Different Levels Of Water In Each Attached To Air Compressor Nozzles. With Extensive Performing Experience Strong Musicianship And Those Crazy Instruments ORCA Offers A Great Live Music Experience. Hopefully Their Instruments Can Just Hold Together Long Enough For The World To Hear It. 7 Orca/00orca Was A Producer From France. @00orca
