Composer Naftali Schindler Was Born In The US And Spent His Life There And Israel. His Musical Studies Were At Yale With Aaron Jay Kernis Martin Bresnick Ezra Laderman And David Lang And At Boston University Martin Amlin And Theodore Antoniou. He Presented His Work In Master-Classes Given By Lukas Foss Samuel Adler And David Liptak Among Others.
Naftali's Music Has Been Performed Internationally Including Performances By The Travers Siblings Alea III Yale Philharmonia Pykka Quintet And The BU Symphony Orchestra Who Included His Petrarch Sonnets On The 2006 Honors Concert . He Has Been Commissioned By Alea III Norfolk Chamber Music Festival And Steve Parker Among Others. His Influences Include Traditional Music From Around The Word And The Western Classical Tradition. His World Influences Include Tuvan Music Bands Include Huun-Huur-Tu Chirgilchin And Alash Ensemble Wagogo And Pygmy Music From Subsaharan Africa Javanese And Balinese Music From Indonesia And Indian Music Artists Include Ravi Shankar Zakir Hussain Rajeev Taranath . read less
