Artist Biography For Mannequin City

Mannequin City Is An Outlet For Frustrations. Societal Issues Such As Consumeristic Greed Play A Key Thematic Role In The Bulk Of Mannequin City's Output. Founded In Late 2008 By Frontman/guitarist Matt Roberge The Band Has Consisted Mostly Of Moving Parts. Mannequin City Is Wholly Considered To Be A "studio" Band With No Future Plans To Tour Or Play Shows. A Key Factor In The Band's Musical Direction Has Been Their Vast And Varying Influences Ranging From Classic Rock Such As The Beatles And The Who To Progressive Rock Ala King Crimson And Yes 80's New Wave And Heavy Metal 90's Alternative And Indie Rock And Modern Artists Like Joanna Newsom And Sufjan Stevens. Matt Roberge Calls Upon These Influences Heavily Yet Manages To Morph And Shape Them Into Something New That Is Decidedly Mannequin City. Mannequin City's First Release Was A Poorly Recorded And Written 4-Track EP "The Setbacks EP" Which Was Released On February 23rd 2009. It Was A Rushed Recording Created Solely For The Purpose Of Filling The Void Left By The Breakup Of Roberge's Previous Band Omega Weapon. The EP Was Followed Quickly By The Demo/single "Words In A Eulogy" In March 2009 Which Was The Result Of An Improvisation Session. At The Turn Of 2010 Matt Roberge Set Out To Do A New Project With Mannequin City That Would Entail Releasing One New Song A Week For The Entirety Of 2010. This However Would Not Pan Out And Instead Ended Up Bearing The Truncated "Seven Weeks" Compilation Featuring All The Work From Those Sessions. After Many Delays In The Recording Process The Final Touches Were Finished On Mannequin City's Debut Full-Length "Which One Is The Robot?" Which Saw Its Release Exclusively At Bandcamp.Com On December 18th 2011. Two Days Later On December 20th A Re-Release Of Mannequin City's First EP Was Debuted. The New Version Features A Fresh Mix With Newly Recorded Drums And Bass Guitar A New Final Master And A Bonus Track. Mannequin City Is Matt Roberge - Vocals/guitars/keys
