Artist Biography For Malvina Meinier

Malvina Meinier Was Born In Paris In 1988.
From An Early Age She Began To Show A Strong Attraction For Music And Developed A Particular Fascination For Piano. She Entered The Conservatory At The Age Of Six And Studied Piano Theory Analysis And Writing Until The Age Of Twenty-One. But She Already Knew Long Before The End Of Her Musical Studies That Her True Passion Did Not End In Playing Music But Composing It. At The Age Of Sixteen Malvina Took Her First Steps In Music Writing Practicing On Various Projects But Did Not Get Involved Into More Personal Compositions Until The Age Of Nineteen.
Her Work Was Quickly Noticed By An Italian Festival Assalti Al Cuore Which Invited Her To Come And Play Shows In Italy On Several Occasions. She Began Performing Her Compositions In A Variety Of Venues Festivals Theaters Exhibitions House Shows Bars And It Was After Three Years Of Maturation That Her First Album 'The Wise One' Was Born An Ambient Work Written For Piano Voice And Cello Produced And Recorded In Italy.​

Her Work However Did Not Stop There. In 2011 She Met The Movie Director Nicolas Bourgouin Who Asked Her To Compose The Soundtrack Of His Documentary 'Papa Blues' And Shortly Thereafter Was Asked To Compose The Score For Nabil Ayouch's Latest Film 'Les Chevaux De Dieu' 'Horses Of God' Which Was Selected For Le Festival De Cannes 2012 'Un Certain Regard'. She Receives For This Movie The Original Score Award On The 9th Of February 2013 At The Movie National Festival Of Tangier. Since Her First Album Was Released On October 21 2012 Malvina Has Been Dedicating Herself To The Writing Of A Second Opus. Now Shifting Towards An Electronic Aesthetic She Is Incorporating Her Formal Training Into Forming A Rawer More Deconstructed Sound In Collaboration With Multinstrumentalist Marius Duflot.
