Lurpakket Was Formed Many Years Ago By A Group Of People That Enjoyed Playing And Singing Nordic Folk Music. The Project Really Picked Up Speed In 2006 When The Band Decided To Attend Medieval Markets And Festivals As A Music Group. Costumes Were Created A New Repertoire Was Found And Research Was Made Concerning Medieval And Renaissance Music And Instruments. A Part From Being Able To Play Early Music Instruments And Having Competent Singers The Band Stands Out By The Fact That The Members Are Academics With Knowledge Of History Religion And Both Nordic And Ancient Languages. A Concert Can Therefore Easily Be Complemented By A Small Lecture Which Especially Draws Interest When The Band Plays At Medieval Markets Schools Museums And Churches. The Members Of The Band Have Their Roots Solidly Planted In The Nordic Musical Culture Which Is Also Easily Recognized When The Band Plays Troubadour Songs From France Or Pilgrim Music From Spain. The Repertoire Is Broad And Encompasses Both The Powerful Nordic Folk Music Jesting Troubadur Songs Ballads And Dance Music And Even Early European Medieval Music That Finds It Self Somewhere Between Church And Folk Music. read less
