Artist Biography For Layoversea

Http //layoversea.Bandcamp.Com/ The Ship That Wanted All Seven Seas… Layoversea Is An Electronic Project Owned And Operated By California Born Jason Shook. Focused On Staying Out Of Focus The Project Maintains A Secure Weevil Wobble Between Soundtrack Inspired Themes And Industrial Avant-Garde Rock. For Over 10 Years Layoversea Has Been Pushing Its Own Limits Of Composition Following The Singular Rule That All Things In Life Contain An Epic Nature. In 2005 Layoversea Released “Pages” As A Digital Debut Album. A Heavy-Laden Piano/string Based Concept Album Which Would Later Become The Foundation For Future Layoversea Endeavors. Soon After And Almost As A Curve Ball In The Sequence Came The 2007 Release Of “Candlelight Specials” Which Turned To A More Experimental Jazz Base While Incorporating Live Instruments. Though Seemingly Insignificant To The Process Of Creation At The Time It Was This E.P. That Gave Way To The Quick Following Release Of “The Great Collapse” In 2008. An Album Eclectic Not Only In Sound But In Themes As Well “The Great Collapse” Proved Eventfully True To Its Title When Shortly After Completion Shook’s Entire Workstation Crashed. During 2009 In The Midst Of Repair And Reinvention A Collection Of Material Preceding "Pages" Found Exposure On The “Terminal-Amnqui” Release Which Acted As A Historical Road Map To The Development And Growth Of Layoversea. In These 24 Tracks Dating Between 2000 And 2005 The Diversity Of The Project Became Even More Transparent. Lending Fuel To Further That Road Map By Releasing A Quasi Best Of Album Entitled “Decabest” Which Showcased Layoversea’s Work Between 2005 And 2008 And Included Some Unreleased Material. 2010 Saw To The Revitalization Of Both Equipment And Inspiration For The Downed Ship Layoversea. Working In New Platforms And Spiraling Into Unknown Territory The Framework For A Sixth Release Began To Take Shape In Late Spring. Abiding Once Again To The Rule Of Epic Nature The Materialization Of Five New Compositions Emerged Over The Course Of Summer And Were Finalized In Fall. Bringing “Nightlife In A City Soaked” To Release In Mid November And Standing As The Most Recent Achievement In Layoversea’s Continued Exploration… Other Projects By Shook Include Http //ciders.Bandcamp.Com/ Http //breather1.Bandcamp.Com/ Http //everythingshook.Bandcamp.Com/
