"Mrs. Jones" Is A Song By Hole. Clearly An Evolution Of An Earlier Song "Every Man Burn Black " Which Musically And Lyrically Became "Burn Black" But Whose Subject Matter And Bridge Became "Mrs. Jones". The Song Is Based On The Riff From Bauhaus's "Dark Entries" Which Was Admitted To By Courtney In An Interview From 1991 Or 1992 . It Is One Of The Band's Longest Songs And Is Split Up Into Several Different Parts That Repeat And Overlap Throughout. "Mrs. Jones" Seems To Tackle Quite A Bit Of Subject Matter Most Obviously Being Rape And Abortion But There Are Hints Of Prostitution And The Idea That Rape And Abortion Have Surprising Similarities.
