Frogtoon Music - Song Info: New Gods

"New Gods" Explores The Theme Of Yearning For Something Greater And The Disappointment That Comes With Unattainable Desires. The Song Addresses The Idea Of Traditional Religion And Belief Systems Being Insufficient For The Protagonist's Needs As She Searches For New Gods. The Lyrics Suggest That The Protagonist Feels Isolated And In Need Of A Higher Power To Provide Guidance And Solace As The World Burns And Becomes Increasingly Chaotic. The Chorus Repeats The Phrase "hands Reaching Out For New Gods" Indicating The Protagonist's Repeated Attempts To Find Meaning And Connection Through Her Spirituality. Despite Her Efforts She Is Left Wanting And Unfulfilled. The Line "you Can't Give Me What I Want" Adds A Note Of Frustration Suggesting That The Protagonist Is Becoming Increasingly Disillusioned With Her Search. The Bridge Which Repeats The Phrase "only Brand New Gods Can Save Me" Reinforces The Idea That The Protagonist Is Seeking A Fresh Start And A New Perspective. The Repetition Of This Line Also Emphasizes The Importance Of Finding Something New And Different Rather Than Relying On Old Beliefs And Traditions. Overall "New Gods" Is A Commentary On The Human Desire For Something Greater And The Constant Search For Meaning And Purpose In Life. The Song Suggests That Sometimes We Must Let Go Of Old Ideas And Beliefs In Order To Find Something New And Fulfilling.
