Gatto Marte Is A Chamber Ensemble Of Classical Background With An Attitude Close To Jazz And A Twist Of Folk Music From Eastern Europe Through The Mediterranean Towards The North. Piano Double Bass Violin And Bassoon Are The Protagonists Of This Musical Journey. The Music Is Descriptive And Imaginative It Often Recollects Little Stories Which Can Be Comical Tragicomically Dramatic With An Ironical Touch. This Attitude Has Led The Ensemble To Compose Music For Silent Films Such As Malombra By Carmine Gallone The Gold Rush By Charlie Chaplin Balloonatic By Buster Keaton A Woman By Charlie Chaplin And Lately Faust By Frederich Murnau. The Ensemble Has Played In Numerous International Festivals Such As Autunno Musicale In Como In 1998 Arezzo Wave In 2000 The Ensemble Wins The Award As The Best Emerging Band In Italy Luci Del Nuovo Millennio In Como In 2001 With The Film "Malombra" The International Film Festival "Strade Del Cinema" In Aosta With "A Woman" In 2002 And "Balloonatic" In 2003 The International Festival "Rimusicazioni" In Bolzano In 2003 The Ensemble Wins The Award For The Best Music For The Film "Malombra" Alter-Ego Festival In Braine-Le-Comte In Belgium In 2004. In January 2005 The Ensemble Went To Monterey And Santa Cruz California To Present Live The Film Faust In Two Important Events.
