Artist Biography For Elyse

Elyse Weinberg Is A Gifted Singer-Songwriter Whose Debut Album “Elyse ” Has Become An Underground Legend Thanks To Such Contemporary Fans As Amy Annelle And Elf Power. The Original Album Was Recorded In 1968 When Canadian-Born Elyse Part Of The Toronto Folk-Rock Scene Made Her Way To Los Angeles. Meeting Up With Fellow Canadian Troubadour Neil Young She Was Quickly Embraced By The California Folk-Rock Community Which Led To A Recording Contract With The Now-Defunct Tetragrammaton Label. The Freewheeling Album Featuring Young And The Late Collin Walcott Of The Band Oregon Was Critically Well Received And Made It To The #31 Position On The Billboard Album Charts. Elyse Even Performed On “The Tonight Show.” Mass Appeal However Was Not In The Cards. A Second Album Was Recorded But Tetragrammaton Co-Owned By Bill Cosby Floundered. The Album Disappeared. She Moved Onto The Asylum Records Stable For A Third Also Unreleased Album. Elyse Left The Music Industry And Reinvented Herself As Cori Bishop. Her Debut Album Was “discovered” By Andrew Rieger And Laura Carter Of The Band Elf Power Whose Passion For Elyse’s Music Led To The Record Being Re-Mastered From A Pristine Vinyl Copy And Released On CD In 2001. Elyse/Cori Currently Resides In Oregon Where She Gigs Occasionally With An Ad Hoc Band Baby Cori & The Buds.
