Artist Biography For Bear And Lampshade

Bear And Lampshade Is A Contemporary Experimental Group Formed Sometime In Late 2008 To Early 2009 In Rockville Maryland. R0bert Übero Pronounced 'Rowbot Nubber' The Core Contributor And Founder Of The Band As Well As The Only Initial Band Member Who Remains Living Is Heavily Influenced By Bands Like The Spooky Kids And Huey Lewis And The News. Bear And Lampshade Are Known For Their Wild Stage Performances Often Involving Mock-Ritual Executions And Hula-Dancing. In Early 2010 Übero Received The Highest Local Honor For Experimental Media The Merlin Award Personally From The Famous And Notoriously Gritty Director John Waters. Waters Later Commented On The Event Saying "I Was Never Fully Aware Of What Was Going On The Evening I Gave Übero That Award. I Had Just Taken Some High-Grade Goofballs When I Received The News." Despite B&L's Immediate Local Success They Have Not Yet Been Able To Reach The Children On A National Scale. In 2009 Bear And Lampshade Were Asked To Perform At The Super Bowl However Übero Was Forced To Turn Down The Opportunity When A Family Crisis Forced Him To Take A Hiatus From His Music Career. For Years Übero Extended His Musical Aperture Filling His Die-Hard Fans With Dread That B&L Would Never Be Again. Yet When All Seemed Lost Übero Brought Back The Band For A Final Stand In Late June Of 2010 Kicking Up The Energy And Creativity Of His Stage Performances. Übero Has Numerous Side Projects Including But Not Limited To Tarot Macabre Xenodiagnostics And The Swaying Duck Theory.
Other Notable Contributors To Bear And Lampshade Include Gossamer Appleton Jimmy Crowe And Mike Smith.
