Artist Biography For Alessio Vlad

Alessio Vlad Is A World Renowned Conductor Composer And Specialist In Musical Arrangements. He Began Studying Composition At The St. Cecilia Conservatoire Before Going On To Specialise In Conducting With Franco Ferrara Sergiu Celibidache And Bruno Campanella. He Later Studied With Leonard Bernstein And Assisted The Maestro In Numerous Productions By Some Of The World’s Leading Orchestras. Following His Role As Assistant Conductor At The Spoleto Festival And The Opera Theatre In Rome Upon Werner Henze’s Invitation He Made His Debut As Conductor At The International Arts Workshop In Montepulciano. He Later Went On To Work With Italian Orchestras City Theatre In Bologna Roam Opera The Massimo Theatre In Palermo The Opera House In Cagliari The Toscanini Orchestra The Sicilian Symphony Orchestra The Rai Orchestra In Turin And European Orchestras Schleswig-Holstein Philarmonie Philarmonie Der Natinen Dresden Philarmonie Weimar Staatskapelle . He Has Also Enjoyed A Rich Recording Career With The St. Cecilia Chamber Orchestra Recording Pieces By Puccini Catalani Pergolesi And Vivaldi. His Work As A Composer Has Taken Him Into Theatre And Cinema Working With Directors Such As Cristina Comencini “Vai Dove Ti Porta Il Cuore” “Liberate I Pesci” Bernardo Bertolucci “Besieged” Winner Of The 1999 Golden Globe For Best Italian Soundtrack Franco Zeffirelli “Six Characters In Search Of An Author” “Sparrow Storia Di Una Capinera” “Jane Eyre” “Tea With Mussolini” “Callas Forever” And Giorgio Ferrara “Tosca E Altre Due” . Since 1991 He Has Been The Artistic Director For “Ravello – City Of Music” Where He Formed A Youth Orchestra In Association With Artists Like Frank Peter Zimmerman Katia And Mariella Labeque Misha Maisky Aldo Ciccolini Michele Campanella And Many Others.
