The Primordial Ooze Of The Band Began At Cypress College Where Friends And Classmates Freddie Dilworth Guitar Vocals And Freeman Land Vocals Guitar Aligned Themselves With An Independent Music Troupe Called "Mexico Is A Lie". The Young Cluster Of Bright Eyed Musicians Performed At Various Locations Throughout Southern California Before It's Eventual Dissolution Near The Beginning Of 2008. After Quitting His Then Band "The Black Dots" Freddie Began Making Plans To Start A Band With Freeman And Other Fellow Ex-Mexico Is A Lie Member Ryan Pena Drums Keyboards Mandolin Vocals . Due To Conflicting Schedules The Nameless Trio Had Some Difficulty Finding Time To Collaborate Resulting In A Largely Unrehearsed And Disorganized Midsummer Performance. Afterward The Group Began To Practice Regularly But Were Still Short A Bass Player A Role That Freddie's Brother David Gulmatico Bass Percussion Vocals Was More Than Willing To Fill Thus Completing The Final Line-Up In The Fall Of 2008. Though The Group Was Finalized They Still Hadn't Settled On A Name And Invariably Went Through A Catalogue Of Monikers Before They Unanimously Agreed On Freeman's Suggestion The Barrelhousers. During The Winter Of 2008 The Group Began Working On Their Debut Ablum The "Wall Of Sound EP" With The Illustrious "River Song Wall Of Sound " Being The First Track To Appear On Their MySpace On New Years Day 2009. After Numerous Recording Sessions And Remixes The Barrelhousers Finished The "Wall Of Sound EP" And Began To Distribute Their Independent Release As Well As Perform At Various Parties And Venues. This Aptly Titled "Booze Rock" Band Is Currently In The Midst Of Recording And Performing Occasional Shows Within The Orange County/Los Angeles Areas.
