Artist Biography For Pawel Grabowski

Pawel Grabowski Is A Multi-Instrumentalist Musicial & Composer Born 1977. He Started Working With Music In The Late 90's. In 1998 He Formed MiastoNieSpalo A Chamber Music Trio Working With Ambient Music Using Only Acoustic Instruments Cello Accordion & Double-Bass. With This Band He Won The First Prize At The "Ist New Improvisation Music Festival Yass-No'98" In Poland And Released Two Albums "Festspielhaus" And "Piesni Zalobne I-VII". The Band Was Known For The Highly Emotional Even Sacral Music They Created. MiastoNieSpalo Disconinued In Late 2000. Since Then He Has Been Working As A Solo Artist. In 2000 Grabowski Started Taking Private Classes In Classical Composition With Prof. Krzysztof Olczak Which He Continued For The Next 2 Years. During That Period He Also Moved Away From Working With Acoustic Music And Turn Into Electroacoustic Music And Field Recordings With Which He Still Continues Working. That Period Of His Life Resulted In Few Performances Of His Music Both Electroacoustic And Acoustic. In 2002 He Was Invited To Take Part In IVth Contemporary Art Biennial "ArtGenda 2002" In Hamburg Where He Spent 3 Weeks Working With Many Artists On Audiovisual Projects. Also In 2002 He Released His First Solo Release "Diarakth" For A German Laub Records. The Same Year Saw Him Leaving Poland And Moving To Dublin Ireland Where He Now Continues To Work On His Music. In 2004 He Released His Next Release "Glitch Letters" E.P. For His Own Small Label Silence Is Not Empty. The Release Was Marking A Slight Change In His Sound A Departure From Drones To A Silent And Microtonal Music. The Release Was Followed With A Short Concert Tour In Spain And Portugal Plus Few Concerts In London And Ireland With A German Band Troum. After Returning From Those Grabowski Decided To Concentrate On Studio Work And Developing His Musical Language. "Glitch Letters" Were Followed By A Series Of Recordings. One Of The First Results That Got Released Was A 7" "Cirr's Songs" E.P. For Well Known Drone Records Label Released In 2005. This Release And All Post "Glitch Letters" Sessions Marked The Return To Drones And Slow Moving Ambient Music But Enriched With Microtonal Experiences From "Glitch Letters" Sessions. The Same Year He Appeared On A Compilation Marking 2 Years Anniversary Of Cronica Label From Portugal Where His Track Appeared As Audio And As A Soundtrack To A Fantastic Movie By Sara Kolster And Was Followed By His Contribution To Cronica's Ongoing "Product" Series With His 20 Minute-Long Composition "But I'm Not" Released As A Part Of A Split CD With The Beautiful Schizophonic And John Eeck Rippie Paolo Raposo. At The Same Time His Full Length Material "Arh" Was Released In Belgium By Mystery Sea Recs. 2006 Brought Two E.P.'s "Notes From The House Of Dead" And "Kissing Evil Ghosts Goodbye" As Well As A Departure From Dublin. At Present Pawel Grabowski Lives In A Small Town By The Irish Sea.
