Gregorio Strozzi San Severino Lucano 1615 - Naples 1687 Was An Italian Composer Harpsichordist And Organist. He Studied With Giovanni Maria Sabino In Naples Later Becoming Second Organist At Sts. Annunziata In 1634 . In 1645 He Was Appointed Chaplain In Amalfi . In 1655 He Became Doctor Of Canon And Civil Law At The University Of Naples And Took The Title Of Abbot. He Wrote A Collection Of Choral Works For Holy Week "Responsoria Lamentationes Improperia Psalms Hymni Motecta Et Evangelia Passionis Quoad Turbam Quae To Musicam In Hebdomada Spectant Sancta" Op. 1 Rome 1655 A "Sancto Officio Of Christmas" Op. 2 Lost A Collection Of Bicinia "Elementorum Musicae Praxis Not Utilis-Off Incipientibus Sed Et Proficientibus Perfectis" Op. 3 Naples 1683 And The "Caprices By Beeping Cymbals Et Organs " Op. 4 Naples 1687 His Most Famous Work Which Contains Twenty-Nine Pieces For Harpsichord Or Organ.
