Frogtoon Music - Song Info: Hennessy & Sailor Moon

“Hennessy & Sailor Moon” Is The First Single Off Album Frost God And Takes The Shape Of A Powerhouse Collaboration Between Swedish Rappers Yung Lean And Bladee. Yung Lean Says The Word “you” In Excess Of 40 Times During This Song Which Clearly Demonstrates The Romance And Devotion Towards The Girl He Is Addressing. Not Only Does He Dedicate The Whole Ballad To Her He Also Mentions Her In Every Line. Through His Lyric “I Can Be Your Savior Everything We’ve Been Through” It Can Be Interpreted That The Pair Have Endured Much Together And This Girl Has Been With Lean Throughout His Darkest Moments. Lean Now Wants To Repay Her Loyalty And Perseverance To Him By Switching The Roles And “grinding” To Support Her Instead. Bladee’s Verse Can Be Interpreted As The Opposite Of Lean’s Verse. Bladee Refers To Himself As A “young Rockstar" – Possibly Implying A Disinterest In Love And Relationships. While Yung Lean Is Explaining Nicely To The Girl That He Has “been Busy Got So Much Work Can’t Always Be With You” Bladee Says “ever Since She Called I Don’t Have A Heart”.
Lean Is Trying To Go Out Of His Way To Protect His Girl’s Feelings While Bladee Is Exploring How His Own Feelings Are Non-Existent. A Similar Oxymoron Can Be Found In Lean’s Optimistic Lyric “we Can Go Up To The Stars See Clouds And Fall Through” Whereas Bladee Says “I Went To The Stars”.
This Implies Firstly That Bladee Went To The Stars Alone But Also That He Has Already Experienced Infatuation And The Subsequent Heartbreak Which Yung Lean Is Only Just Starting Too.
