Silva Hakobyan (Armenian: Սիլվա Հակոբյան) is a popular Armenian singer. Silva was born on October 23, 1988, to Hakob and Virginia Hakobyan, in the city of Vayk, Vayots Dzor, Armenia. She performed since the age of 4 and has participated in many competitions.
Silva won the BBC World Service's Next Big Thing competition, beating six other acts in a final in London. The judges said Silva's song "I Like, which was written by her brother/sister, was "fresh and new" and described her performance as "second to none".
Her Long awaited debut album: Silva was released on 21 July 2008.
