Artist Biography For Levi Conner

Spending the interpretive, yet intuitive years of youth in New England, Levi Conner experimented in various electronica and alternative genres, including a part time garage/barn project with Wynn and Will Butler (vocalist/bass for The Arcade Fire). Fast forward, now based in Greenpoint/Brooklyn with band members Alan Moretz (guitar), Jon Murray (bass) and Shawn Lee (drums)- the alt rock quartet known as Million Year Echo shifts from floating, ghostly vocals reminiscent of Buckley to the organic, textural explosions akin to the genre bending alt-rock heavyweights of the mid ’70s. Notable performances include acoustic and full band sets at the ’09 and ’10 Florida Music Festivals. Last fall they were also invited to the 2008 Iceland Airwaves Music Festival in Reykjavik, with the line up including Kaiser Chiefs (UK), We are Scientists (US), Wolf Parade (CAN) and Cold War Kids (US) among others. Conner played two acoustic shows to packed venues. Other notable slots include the mainstage at FMF2009-10 opening for Filter and co-headlining slots with Manchester Orchestra, Jimmy Gnecco(Ours) and Anberlin. One of their biggest fans, WXRP’s Matt Pinfield, placed the track “So This Is Love” into rotation on his Sirius Radio show (Ch. 26) and “Turn To Me” on WRXP Locals Show. He first met Conner at FMF2007 and has followed the band since. Fresh off recording the guitar crunching/head throbbing “Never Coming Back” and the melodic timeless crooner “Turn To Me,” MYE have developed a genuine following among labels and music tastemakers alike, with their consistent slate of gigs in their Brooklyn burrough and the Lower East Side.
