The Avalanches Are An Electronic Music Collective From Melbourne Australia. They Are Well Known For Their Use Of Eclectic Sampling Having Created Their Debut Album Since I Left You 2000 Entirely Out Of Over 3 500 Samples Of Obscure Records Movies And Television Shows. This Is Famously Demonstrated On Their Hit Single "Frontier Psychiatrist". Before This They Were A Hip-Hop Group With The Single Album Rock City And The EPy El Producto. After A 16 Year Hiatus They Released Their Sophomore Album Wildflower 2016 Which Was Followed By We Will Always Love You 2020 . 2. A Defunct American Surf Rock Group
NOTE The Former Band Actually Got Their Name From The Latter As The Avalanches' " Ski Surfin''" Album Was Known To Be Their Favorite Album. The Avalanches Was An Instrumental Surf Rock Studio Group Active In The 1960s Which Included Billy Strange Tommy Tedesco David Gates Later Of Bread And Hal Blaine. In 1963 They Recorded An LP Ski Surfin' Which Was Re-Released In 2007.

Wildflower Is The Second Studio Album By Australian Electronic Music Group The Avalanches. It Was First Released On 1 July 2016 Through Modular Recordings Astralwerks XL Recordings And EMI. Production Lasted 16 Years And Began Around The Release Of Their Debut Album Since I Left You 2000 . Pat Shannahan Reckons Around 50 Samples Were Cleared For Wildflower Commencing In 2012. The Album Contains 21 Tracks And Features Multiple Collaborators. The Album Was Formally Announced On 2 June 2016 Alongside The Release Of Its First Single An Extended Mix Of "Frankie Sinatra". After The Release Of Since I Left You In 2000 The Avalanches Continued To Produce Music. Over The Course Of A Decade The Group Worked On A Wide Variety Of Projects Which Involved Collaborations With Multiple Artists. The Album Began As "ambient World Music" And By Early 2007 The Band Was Considering Over 40 Tracks For An Album Which Had Become Mostly Hip Hop Oriented. The Group Became More Involved In Separate Projects Which Pulled Them Away From The Album. Some Of Their Most Time-Consuming Work Included The Score To A Musical King Kong 2013 And An Animated Musical Film Described As A "hip Hop Version Of Yellow Submarine" Which Lost Funding And Was Never Completed. Wildflower Features Many Remnants From These Projects But The Avalanches Had To Leave Out Many Tracks Which Did Not Fit With The Theme Of The Album. They Plan To Release These Tracks At A Later Date.
